It was a nice night out, the stars were shining bright. It's not like they noticed though, they were in the local cafe, drinking some java, telling jokes, listening to crap music. Arukooru looked over his table with tired eyes.

"Why does coffee make me so tired?" He yawned. Karagi laughed and dipped her chocolate chip cookie into her glass.

"Because you're hyper all the time, that's why."

Cheero smiled at the remark and sipped her own. Zerio shrugged, boredly staring out the window, there was a bit of a fight going on in the alley way across the street. Arukooru slammed his head on the table, causing the coffee that was sitting on the table to spill. Karagi jumped and yelped. Arukooru quickly pulled his head back up with his eyes closed and his mouth partly open. A smokey smell started to taint the air. It was seeping in from outside. Cheero curled her noes, ears flipping back, "Something smells...." Zerio nodded looking to Karagi and Arukooru. The rest of the demons and half demons inside began to get uneasy and got quiet.

"What the hell is going on?" Zerio whispered. Karagi's ears drooped down and she started to hunch into her seat.

"I don't know..." Arukooru's eyes widened. "It smells like fire..." He looked out the window and saw people started to run down the street screaming, then, there was an explosion. The glass shattered and forced Arukooru to fly back. Zerio jumped on the window seal and peered out. Cheero helped Arukooru and Karagi up and joined Zerio, who now stood on the street. The rest of the demons and half demons had fled in a panic. Karagi and Arukooru followed Zerio and Cheero.

"Where did they all run too? Why are they even running?" Arukooru ran up the street a little and peered around the corner. He saw a mob of Demons and tanks heading their way. His eyes got large and he quickly turned back. He hid behind Cheero.

"We better run too..."

"Why?" Cheero asked. Her answer came in the form of snarls and tanks of demons.

"You there! Half demons! Surrender or die where you stand!" A harsh voice barked out. Zerio grabbed Karagi and took off followed by Cheero and Arukooru. The took shelter and hid in a building a mile off from town.

"What the hell is wrong? Why is this happening?" Cheero yelled paceing. Karagi layed on the floor, almost sobbing.
"What's going to happen to us if they find us?" She asked into her hands. Arukooru turned into his beast form roughly, and jolted back outside. He stopped and barked back, "I'm going to try to fend them off!! You guys get out of town! I'll catch up!" After that, he ran up the street. Zerio lead Cheero and Karagi farther out of town into the wilderness. Soon the sun was nearly rising and they were far from their old homes. The trio took shelter under a large nearly fallen tree trunk.
